(27)I'm a certified electrician with a background in painting and finishing work, which is a combination that surprises a lot of people at first. I trained as an electrician for six years before picking up painting on the side, and now I offer both as part of my handyman services.
On the electrical side, I install and repair light fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets, and switches, and I can troubleshoot tripped breakers or flickering lights. I always follow proper safety codes and test my work thoroughly before wrapping up a job.
My painting work leans toward detail and finishing touches, things like trim, crown molding, cabinet refreshes, and accent walls. Having an electrician's eye for precision carries over nicely into clean paint lines and careful masking.
I like projects that combine both skills, such as repainting a room and updating the light fixtures at the same time, since it saves customers from coordinating two separate visits. That said, I'm just as happy taking on a single small job.
